Christmas at the Beach

When New York is all snow and ice
we'll fly away to someplace nice
to decorate palm trees
and have Christmas at the beach.

When there's slush in Prospect Park
and at 4 o'clock it's already dark,
we'll go where we need sunscreen
and have Christmas at the beach.

Snowball fight at the Brooklyn Flea.
The sand and surf are calling me.
Trade icicles for ice cream
and have Christmas at the beach.

Even Santa wants to get away.
He's freezing cold in the Empire State
and the reindeer bought jet skis
to have Christmas at the beach.

We know that there are those
who like holidays in the snow
so to you we say warmly,
"Merry Christmas from the beach."
